Coffee Cake

All summer long I avoid baking anything more than I have to. Our house, the kitchen especially, gets so hot in the summer that baking doesn't even sound fun.

But now that our house has a crisp fall breeze floating through it and we wake up with chilly noses, baking quickly becomes one of the things I enjoy the most.

This morning we ate this coffee cake still warm from the oven. Oh my. . . it was good. And the best part is that I put it together the night before. This morning, I quickly threw back the covers, raced barefooted across the chilly floors to put the coffee cake into the oven, and then raced back to bed for more snuggles with the little ones. Got up 35 minutes later to an amazing spicy fall-like smell in the house.

Perfect!

  2. I just saw you comment on MADE. Thanks for the tip. Next year when we try growing popcorn again we'll have to dry it out first.
